About Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is a recognized form of therapy by the Canadian Cancer Society, B.C. Doctors, Health Link B.C.,
among other Global Health Organizations. Hypnosis has been used for a long as records have been kept.
Modern clinical hypnosis is dated from the late 1700s, and the use of hypnotherapy has grown by leaps and bounds since 1958 "
Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis to treat physical or psychological conditions.
It's a form of therapy that uses relaxation, extreme concentration, and intense attention, to achieve a heightened state of consciousness or mindfulness.
This form of therapy utilizes one’s mind to help reduce or alleviate a variety of issues, such as psychological distress, phobias, fear, and unhealthy, destructive, or dangerous habits.
The aim of hypnotherapy is to create a positive change in an individual, while they are in a state of deep relaxation.
You must be willing to focus your attention and follow the suggestions of the therapist to allow hypnotherapy to work.
In some cases hypnotherapy is combined with cognitive therapy or other relaxation and behavioral techniques.
How effective is Hypnotherapy?
Very effective! In a study conducted by clinical psychologist Dr Alfred Barrios (B.S. Caltech, PhD. UCLA), he notes that “… for psychoanalysis we can expect a recovery rate of 38% after approximately 600 sessions. For [Behaviour] therapy, we can expect a recovery rate of 72% after an average of 22 sessions, and for hypnotherapy, we can expect a recovery rate of 93% after an average of 6 sessions.”

About Walk & Talk Therapy
Walk-and-talk therapy is different approach to traditional talk therapy, in which the therapist and client take their therapy sessions outdoors. It's like Talk Therapy & Nature Therapy wrapped up in a beautiful relaxing as well as therapeutic hour. There are large amounts of research to the benefits of talk therapy, as well as the benefits of nature and exercise on mental health, so SHINE has decided to combine them all to create the Ultimate Therapy Session.
Psychologists view the movement of walk-and-talk therapy as literally “moving forward” when dealing with anxiety and depression.
It's not just SHINE that believes in the benefits of being out in green spaces, other mental health organisations recognize the benefits of the activity on good psychological health and mental well-being. In fact, any kind of exercise can help to reduce levels of stress, depression and anxiety.
Because grief can be so totally consuming and feel so heavy, having the counterpoint of being outdoors and accomplishing something positive for one's health can provide a sense of aliveness.
Clients who are feeling trapped in a relationship or a job, or who are pretending to be somebody they are not will feel a sense of freedom with walk and talk therapy. Also, domestic abuse patients may also benefit by "being able to frame things more positively."
It's also been noticed that walk and talk to be especially good for male patients.
There is a theory that men have difficulty with eye contact in the office, chair to chair, revealing very private and possibly painful things. But walking side-by-side can help a man become more at ease, more revealing, therefore getting the most out of each session.
In addition, substance abusers can benefit from walk and talk movement movement also.

A message from Tina
"In some health sectors, we humans are treated the same. We are in a cookie cutter health system; and prescribed a one for all and all for one, type of solution. I know that each of us is unique, that's a fact. We learn, love, think, experience, and live differently. Though many of us are programmed to aim for that societal norm, that usually ends up being a huge detriment to our mental health and our level of physical health. We all deserve specific attention that suits our individual uniqueness, and I am devoted to every one of my clients based on their individual selves." ~ Tina T
